Dear NANOG 59 Attendees:

Welcome to NANOG 59!  Hosted by PhoenixNAP, at the Sheraton Wild Horse
Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona.  We are expecting a strong attendance at the
meeting; with nearly 618 individuals registered, 190 have indicated they
are attending a NANOG meeting for the first time.  This message contains
information and brief reminders to help you prepare for the NANOG meeting.

*Meeting Information*

Upon checking in at Registration, an abbreviated paper copy of the agenda
will be provided with your name badge. In addition to all of the meeting
activities,  you can also find information on local

*Meeting Check-in *
Meeting registration & check-in will be held at the Akimel Foyer, located
on the main floor of the hotel. When you arrive at the meeting, please
check-in at the NANOG Registration Desk to pick up your name badge,
T-shirt, attendee gifts and important handouts.

The registration desk will be open during the following hours:

   - Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
   - Monday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
   - Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
   - Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

*Membership and Sponsorship Table*
Beginning on Monday morning, committee members will be available during
breaks to answer your Membership and Sponsorship questions. The Membership
and Sponsorship table is located near the registration area.

*Community Meeting*
We invite you to attend and participate in the NANOG Community Meeting on
Monday, at 4:00 p.m. in the Akimel Ballroom. The Community Meeting, hosted
by the NANOG Board, will provide an opportunity to hear from those running
for the 2013 Board of Directors open positions.

*Attendee Breakfast*
In the Akimel Foyer / Mesquite Terrace,

   - Welcome Refreshments will be served on Monday 8:00-10:30 a.m.  and,
   - Power Breakfast will be served Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30-9:30
   a.m.

*Welcome Lunch and Newcomers Lunch*
The Monday Welcome Lunch, open to all attendees will be in the Mesquite
Terrace at 12:00 p.m.  This is a great time to begin the ever famous, NANOG
hallway conversations.

If this is your first NANOG meeting, you are encouraged to attend the
Monday Newcomers Lunch with other NANOGers (meet and greet the NANOG
community and start socializing) at 12:00 p.m. in the Komatke A,B,C
Ballroom (main floor).

*Members Breakfast*
The Members Breakfast will be held on Wednesday at 8:30am in the Komatke
A,B,C room and is open to NANOG Members.  Members will be provided an
important opportunity to learn about organizational updates and communicate
with the Board and other NANOG committees.

Monday

   - 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Coresite , DuPont Fibros Technology, Evoswitch
    Fiberlight, Juniper Networks, LINX Nova,  will be hosting a social at the
   Rawhide Western Town.

Tuesday:

   - 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. the ever famous NANOG Beer n’ Gear will be held
   at the Komatke D,E,F,G Ballroom.
   - 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. - BTI Systems and Layer42 will continue evening
   activities in the Mesquite Terrace, Sheraton Wild Horse Property

Wednesday:

   - 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m – ARIN will begin the evening with the standard
   Fall Happy Hour social in the Akimel Patio, Sheraton Wild Horse Property.
   - 7:15 – 10:30 p.m. GPF will close out NANOG 59 with a social that
   includes the opportunity to drive a high performance racing car at the
   Bonduant School of High Performance Driving.

Hotel Guest Room Internet access is also offered free of charge.  Access
instructions will be provided upon check-in at the hotel.

Meeting wireless will be available beginning on Sunday, October 6 using the
following Meeting Network SSIDs:

   - NANOG_ARIN 802.11A/B/G/N in 2.4GHz
   - NANOG_ARIN-a 802.11A/N in 5Ghz
   - NANOG_ARIN-secure WPA2-P over 802.11A/B/G/N
   - NANOG_ARIN-a-secure WPA2-P authentication over 802.11A/N

The secure wireless networks require WPA2-Personal authentication. Password
credentials are "nanogarin" - all lower case.

*Identifying Ribbons*
While at NANOG 59 can easily be identify the following individuals by
colored ribbons on their badges:

   - Board of Directors Member– Red Ribbon
   - Program Committee Member– White Ribbon
   - Development and Communications Committees Member– Blue Ribbon
   - Staff – Special name badges
   - Newcomer – Teal Ribbon
   - Premium Sponsor – Violet Ribbon
   - Meeting Sponsor  - Yellow Ribbon

*Travel Links*
Via the NANOG webpage, we have provided a few highlights to make your stay
more enjoyable.  However should you have further questions regarding the
sites of the area always feel free to stop by the hotel Concierge Desk for
further recommendations.

*Ground Transportation and Parking:*
The Wild Horse is located 11 miles from the Phoenix Sky Harbor
International Airport ($35-$40 approximate cab fare).

Self-Parking: Complimentary
Valet Parking: $23/Night

*Meeting Email Lists*
You may use the list attendee at nanog.org to communicate with other attendees
about meeting activities. Messages sent to that list will go to all other
attendees who were registered to the list during registration. If you
