Except they don't. One of the reasons you can't put vms in multiple<br>
regions into the same VPC is they don't have enough IP addresses to<br>
uniquely address the backend hosts in every region. They end up with a<br>
squirrelly VPC peering thing they relies on multiple gateway hosts to<br>
overcome the address partitioning from overlapping RFC1918.<br>
<br>
In other words, it proves the exact opposite of your assertion.<br>
