It's less about Jane and John than it is about a number of techs and IT
folk who are not interested in global Internet operations. Those folk
will ask Jane and John to "ping 8.8.8.8". Do it enough times, and Jane
and John will be able to do it themselves, next time, as they hold on
the phone for the tech to get to their spot in the queue.
Same goes for CPE vendors... they don't necessarily care about global
Internet operations... they just follow the trend, and that's how Jane
and John become part of the problem.
