IPv6 Pain Experiment

Wouldn’t it be great if when IPv6 was designed there was some kind of automatic translation that could take place so that IPV four could go through a router that understands both IPv6 and IPV four and translate it?

I’m not talking about NAT, but someway that that router could actually route between the two, it would solve many of these problems that keep coming up over and over.
