Well, you won't have to worry about people dragging anchor across the cable.  Other than earthquake or volcanic eruption, I can't imagine what would damage a cable that time of year in that location.

It would be interesting if they put some sensors on those cables to monitor ocean salinity and temperature at those depths, too.
