Using x.x.x.0 and x.x.x.255 host addresses in supernets.

According to Microsoft KB 281507 
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281579 
even "XP Home" and "Server 2003 Standard" are affected.

Could anyone share some pointers to test results or any other listing of 
broken and correct IP stacks regarding this issue?
