Is there a typical number of BGP peers?

Can anyone explain whether there exists a typical number (or range) of BGP
peers for a usual BGP router of a large provider. For example, a BGP router
receives 50 available pathes from all its peers, is that a typical scenario?
Thanks.

Best regards,

Charles
