Of course.

The reason for signatures is because headers were sometimes not good enough
to figure out where messages came from.. It's kinda like your appendix :)
Still there, but now in "modern times" you really dont need it.

Simple, small .signature for people to have your phone number, and the
"cool" stuff in the headers.
