Dear NANOG 70 Attendees:

Welcome to NANOG 70, sponsored by NTT Communications, at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue Hotel.  We are expecting strong attendance, with 897 individuals registered for the meeting as of this email.  Based on our registration data, 247 people have indicated they are attending a NANOG meeting for the first time.  Of those attending, 232 are also NANOG Members.

We are excited to announce the NANOG Network Operators Scholarship program, which was launched in April.  The first round of applications will be completed by June 2, with awards to be made in September 2017. If you are arriving in Bellevue early, consider joining the NANOG 70 Hackathon <https://nanog.org/meetings/nanog70/hackathon> with host sponsor Facebook, taking place on Sunday, June 4, 2017. We provide a mobile app for the conference via Guidebook <https://guidebook.com/getit/>. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices.  Once the app is installed, select “Download Guides” at the bottom and search for “NANOG 70”.  There are a number of features in Guidebook you may like to use.  You can download all or only some of the agenda items that you want, find a map of the hotel meeting venue, search nearby restaurants, connect to social media sites, and you can even take the General and Daily Presentation survey right from your mobile device!

Meeting Check-in
Meeting registration is in the Grand North Foyer, Second Floor of the hotel. When you arrive at the meeting, please check-in at the NANOG Registration Desk to pick up your name badge, NANOG 70 T-shirt, and additional important handouts.  

The registration desk will be open during the following hours:
• Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Monday - Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Be sure to stop by and visit the crowd pleasing sponsored Espresso Bar.  The bar will be open Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm in the Grand North Foyer.

Monday & Tuesday: Lunch will be served in the Evergreen Ballroom E-I (Lobby Level) open to all attendees, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Hotel Guest Room Internet access utilizing hotel wireless infrastructure is offered free of charge.  Access instructions will be provided upon check-in at the hotel.

The NANOG conference network is geared for high availability and demonstrating industry best practices. Please note while there is encryption offered by 802.1x, it is no replacement for the end-to-end security offered by IPsec, SSL, SSH or similar VPN technology.
