Dear NANOG 66 Attendees:

Welcome to NANOG 66, hosted by Console, an IIX company, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina in San Diego.  We are expecting strong attendance, with 926 individuals registered for the meeting as of this email.  Based on our registration data, 255 people have indicated they are attending a NANOG meeting for the first time. Of those attending, 244 are also NANOG Members.

Agenda

We provide a mobile app for the conference via Guidebook <https://guidebook.com/g/nanog66/>. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices.  Once the app is installed, select “Download Guides” at the bottom and search for “NANOG 66”.  There are a number of features in guidebook this meeting.  You can download all or only some of the agenda items that you want, find a map of the hotel meeting venue, search nearby restaurants, connect to social media sites, and you can even take the General and Daily Presentation survey right from your mobile device!

Meeting Check-in
Meeting registration is in the Bayview Foyer of the hotel. When you arrive at the meeting, please check-in at the NANOG Registration Desk to pick up your name badge, NANOG 66 T-shirt, giveaways and important handouts.  

The registration desk will be open during the following hours:
• Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Monday - Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Membership and Sponsorship Information
Beginning on Monday afternoon, staff will be available during breaks in the Bayview Foyer near the Registration area to answer your Membership and Sponsorship questions. 

There is also an American Registry of Internet Numbers Help Desk, located in the Nautilus Foyer.  

Attendees Breakfast
Monday: Welcome Extended Breakfast will be served in the Pavilion from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday: Power Breakfast will be served in the Pavilion from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday: Power Breakfast will be served in the Harbor Island 3, Nautilus 3 and Nautilus Foyer from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Attendees Lunch
Monday: Welcome Lunch will be served in the Pavilion, open to all attendees, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. 
Tuesday: Lunch for our attendees will be served in the Pavilion from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 
Wednesday: Lunch will be on your own.

Please bring your ID and NANOG 66 name badge to enter. Please note that the Sunday social begins at 3:00 p.m. and will be airing the Super Bowl.  The list of registered attendees as of Saturday February 6 will be provided to ensure NANOG attendees can attend the social prior to registration opening.

Tuesday Evening:

Hotel Guest Room Internet access utilizing hotel wireless infrastructure is offered free of charge.  Access instructions will be provided upon check-in at the hotel.

The NANOG conference network is geared for high availability and demonstrating industry best practices. The encryption offered by 802.1x is no replacement for the end-to-end security offered by IPsec, SSL, SSH or similar VPN technology.

Ground Transportation and Parking:
The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina is just 0.3 mi / 550 m from San Diego International Airport. 
Hotel offers a complimentary airport shuttle starting at 4:45 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. seven days a week.  The shuttle arrives every 20 to 25 minutes on the curb marked “Courtesy Vehicles.  Please call +1.619.291.2900 to arrange for the airport shuttle.
Valet Parking is $34.00 per night
Self Parking is $29.00 per night 
Transportation: Taxi service will be about $20.00 or UberX fare estimates are $10.00-$12.00 CAD.
