Pitango is on the other side of the inner harbor (Fels Point). The
minuses: not open first thing in the morning. At 1.7 miles a bit far
to hoof it (there is a Circulator bus which is free). They serve
Counter Culture coffee and have decent gelato. Same micro-chain as
the folks in Google's building in Reston Town Center.

A place with the unlikely name of Sidewalk Espresso (
http://www.sidewalkespresso.com ) is only a few blocks (0.7 miles)
from the hotel and seems to have good reviews on Yelp. Just as
important, they open at 7 am, probably an extra-important
consideration. I'll probably be going there tomorrow - ran out of
time today.

The majority of coffee shops spoken highly of in the forums on Home
Barista seem to be in Mt. Vernon and north (think hipsterville-meets-
The-Wire). Too far to walk, and probably inadvisable even by car.
