Dear NANOG 54 Attendees,

We look forward to seeing you at NANOG 54, hosted by Telx, February 5-8, at
the Westin Gaslamp Quarter Hotel. We are expecting excellent attendance,
with over 540 registered attendees to date.

This message contains information and brief reminders to help you prepare
for the meeting.

*Agenda and Highlights*

*Checking into the Westin Gaslamp*
Those of you arriving for hotel check-in will be directed to the hotel’s
lobby.  Please proceed to the front desk, using the hotel entrance.  We
encourage you to check your bags at the curb with the Bell Stand, where the
hotel is providing additional staff to assist NANOG attendees.

Please note, due to delayed renovation work, the hotel main lobby is closed
and will remain closed for the duration of NANOG 54 .  Additional signage
will be in place to direct NANOG attendees from the check-in desk to the
second floor, where meeting registration is located. In addition, the hotel
restaurant, Horton’s, will be open and available for
breakfast/lunch/dinner/evening drinks.

The NANOG Lounge – open seating area – will be available to you for the
duration of the meeting, with 24 hour access.  The NANOG Lounge is
centrally located on the second floor, in the Presidio/Sierra Rooms.  In
addition, NANOG attendees will have access to a Grab N’ Go food station
located in the NANOG Lounge on Monday, February 6 and Tuesday, February 7,
9am-noon. Please note that the Grab N’ Go station is CASH ONLY.  Here, you
will be able to get items such as:  soda, fruit, chips, muffins, etc.

*Meeting Registration*
Meeting registration will be located on the second floor of the hotel, in
the California Foyer. If you are staying at the hotel, you can get to the
second floor via the hotel elevators.  If you are not staying at the hotel,
or if you are coming from outside of the hotel, you can go directly to the
second floor by using the exterior staircase that is accessible from the
driveway (outside of the hotel main entrance).
You will find the NANOG registration desk on the 2nd floor, where you can
pick up your name badge, t-shirt, attendee gifts and important handouts. *The
registration desk will be open during the following hours: Sunday: Noon to
6:45 p.m., Monday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday:
8 a.m. to Noon.*

*Member Meeting*
We invite you to attend and participate in the NANOG Member Meeting on
Sunday, February 5, from 5:45-6:45 p.m. in the California Ballroom. The
Member Meeting, hosted by the NANOG Board, is an important opportunity to
learn about organizational updates from and communicate with the Board of
Directors and other NANOG committees.
 *Newcomers Breakfast, and Debrief*
If this is your first NANOG meeting, you are encouraged to attend the
Newcomers Breakfast with Old Timers (Meet and Greet the NANOG community and
start socializing) at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the Garden Pavilion/San Diego
Ballroom, where Board, Committee members along with other long-time
NANOGers will talk about the organization, meetings, and how to make the
best use of both. Please plan to attend and learn more about NANOG and how
to get the most out of your first meeting. On Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. there
will also be a Newcomers Debrief Breakfast (Feedback on your first NANOG
Meeting) in the Harbor room. *Power breakfast for all* attendees is
available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the
California Foyer.

In-room Internet Access
If you are staying at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter Hotel under the NANOG
group rate, in-room Internet access is complimentary. When you check in,
the hotel will provide you with instructions for complimentary usage.

Ground Transportation from San Diego International Airport:

The Ground Transportation System at the airport is an extensive network of
taxicab, car rental, shuttle-bus, limousine, and van operations working to
get you where you want to go in a safe, courteous and efficient manner.

Hotel airport transfer is approximately $10-12 USD and is provided by local
taxis.

Hotel Parking: $32 per day, valet parking

*Meeting Email Lists*
You may use nanog-attendee at nanog.org to communicate with other attendees
regarding meeting activities. Messages sent to the list will go to all
other attendees who agreed to join the list during registration.  If you
