Dear NANOG49 Attendee,

We look forward to seeing you at NANOG49, hosted by Netflix, June 13-16
at The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. We expect excellent
attendance, with over 500 registered attendees to date. This message has
some brief reminders to help you prepare for the meeting.

Check-in
--------
When you arrive at the meeting, please check in at the NANOG
registration desk to pick up your name badge, t-shirt and important
handouts. The registration desk will be located on the Mezzanine Level
and open during the following hours:

  Sunday:  Noon to 6 p.m.
  Monday:  8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  Tuesday:  8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  Wednesday:  8 a.m. to noon


Community Meeting
-----------------
An important part of every NANOG meeting is the opportunity to hear
updates from, and communicate with, the committees that support and
guide the meetings and the NANOG community. We invite you to attend and
participate in the NANOG Community Meeting on Sunday, June 13, from
5:45-6:45 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom on the Mezzanine Level.


Newcomers' Breakfast
--------------------
If this is your first NANOG meeting, you are invited to attend a special
breakfast where committee members, Merit staff and long-time NANOGers
will talk about the organization, the meetings, and how to make best use
of both. Please attend to learn more about NANOG and how to get the most
out of your first meeting. The Newcomers' Continental Breakfast will be
held on Monday, June 14, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the California Room on
the Second Floor.

NANOG wireless network
----------------------
Wireless Internet service is available in all meeting rooms and many
public areas within the meeting space. New at this meeting, the SSID
"nanog-wpa2" provides encrypted wireless access. Please see the
following link or the handout at the registration desk for more
information about this service.

In-room Internet access
-----------------------
If you are staying at The Westin St. Francis under the $209 NANOG group
rate, in-room Internet access is complimentary and the hotel should
provide the following instructions at check-in: "Your in-room high speed
Internet access is complimentary. However, you will still need to select
the service from the menu page, agree to the terms and conditions, and
click through until connected. While it will appear that you are being
charged for Internet service, the accounting system will automatically
remove the charge from your room account."

The Westin St. Francis parking garage offers a $25 flat rate for "day
parking" only. You must get a voucher each day from the NANOG
registration desk to present to the valet when leaving.


Meeting Email Lists

You may use the list nanog-attendee at nanog.org to communicate with other
attendees about meeting activities. Messages sent to that list will go
to all other attendees who agreed to join the list during registration.
