PPPoE/IPoE, any recommendations for upgrade?

Yes, but you'd have to do things differently than you do today. Well, you 
don't do AAA in that case. You use DHCP option 82 to identify what port, 
and use that instead of AAA.

So instead of doing everything in the BNG, you have to do it at the access 
port using SNMP to poll counters and change port policy there.

If this is not your liking, then you have to keep the BNG.
